Kathy Ireland is the Chair, CEO, and Chief Designer for kathy ireland Worldwide®, (kiWW®) the design and marketing firm, she founded in 1993, with a pair of socks, an idea and meager financial resources.

kiWW  has since morphed into a design empire with annual retail sales of nearly $2 billion, and Kathy tells us about being there every step of the way, making every creative decision & ensuring that the strategic partnerships she forms have her high principles before she allows her name to be associated with a business. The team's 4 core principles are: Fashion, Quality, Value and Safety.
kathy ireland Worldwide has grown tremendously to offer more than socks (now on her 100 millionth pair!), including designs in home, officeoutdoorentertainingfashion, fine jewelry, haircarepublishing, weddings (she provides everything: from the gown of your dreams to hosting your special day at one of her destination properties) and so much more.

We talk about how she found and followed her passions of design and business, how she focuses on pleasing her #1 customer: the women of the world.  She tells us how she deals with the pressure to work out, maintain her health, how she strives to be tougher, and how she decides what products get the kiWW seal of approval. She shares with us how important her family is to her, from her parents instilling great values in their children "People are more important than profits!", her 25 year upcoming anniversary with Dr. Greg *cork pop* & how she supports her children Erik, Lily & Chloe and encourages them to follow their dreams. Special *CLINK!* to With Strings Attached! Note Kathy beaming with pride, standing back & letting Erik shine in this video we mentioned in our interview!
Kathy tells us about her best friend and mentor Elizabeth Taylor and how important a mentor can be in shaping a life via experience & guiding us along our path.

She also has written 6 books and her latest is "Real Solutions for Busy Moms." A description: "Kathy Ireland communicates with moms every day: online, at the grocery store, at church, at speaking engagements, and on her company website. She is grateful that her conversations don't center around beauty tips or requests for autographs or advice on how to dress. Rather, she has the honor of hearing from real women who struggle with balancing the responsibilities of marriage, raising children, managing a household or career or both, and finding any time left to take care of themselves. As the involved mom of three very active children, the supportive wife of an emergency room doctor, and a dynamic businesswoman, Kathy knows of these struggles firsthand..."
She shares her thoughts on social media and specifically how twitter has been a gamechanger for her, both personally and in business, allowing her to connect and learn from people, as an "instant focus group".

She tells us about an amazing bottle of Champagne she enjoyed (listen to find out what kind!), what advice she would give her 21 year old self, and who inspires her. There is so much more that this smart, fun, kind, gracious and inspirational woman chatted with us about, but we must stop typing about it...listen for yourself!  We all know that she is all the descriptive words mentioned in the opening, but after talking to her ourselves, we discovered she's also a Champagne Sister, and every working mom's best friend.
